This section provides links to reports measuring and monitoring homelessness trends and conditions in over 60 Canadian cities and communities. Each of these reports has been published by a combination of municipal governments and voluntary sector organizations with direct responsibility for projects and programs addressing homelessness at the local level.

Information for each report includes a URL where the report can be located, as well as basic references: Author(s); Year of Publication; Title; City of Publication.

Cette section fournit des liens vers des rapports de mesure et de suivi des tendances des sans-abri et leurs conditions dans plus de 60 villes et collectivités canadiennes. Chacun de ces rapports a été publié par une des gouvernements municipaux et des organismes du secteur bénévole ayant une responsabilité directe pour des projets et programmes de lutte contre l'itinérance au niveau local. 

Information pour chaque rapport comprend une URL où le rapport peut être retrouvé, ainsi que les références de base: Auteur (s); Année de publication, Titre, Ville de publication.

 

The following methodology was used to identify these reports:

  1. Conduct a web search using Google.ca relying on the following keywords:
  • Homeless Action Plan
  • Homeless Prevention Plan
  • Homeless Community Plan
  • Homeless Card Report
  1. Search within the websites of each of the municipal governments located in the 61 Homelessness Partnering Secretariat (HPS) Designated Communities.
  2. Search within the websites of community data users identified as part of Community Data Canada outreach efforts.
  3. Search within Canadian homeless information portals/repositories: the Homeless Hub (York University) Raising the Roof, HRSDC itself.
  4. Search the FCM QOLRS Municipal Data Collection Tool (MDCT), to which municipal government staff have uploaded report measuring & monitoring homelessness.
  5. Identify web-links related to an in-house repository of community reports on homelessness, compiled since 2003 on behalf of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Quality of Life Reporting System (FCM QOLRS) project.
